Role overview

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.
• Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience in the UAE; construction, building contracting, or related industry experience is mandatory.
• Strong practical knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax requirements.
• Experience preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, cash flow reports, and receivables ageing; understanding of project accounting, invoicing, and payment follow-up.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; good written and verbal English communication.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple accounting responsibilities.

Tax and regulatory compliance

• Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority requirements.
• Coordinate Corporate Tax computations, returns, and submissions; maintain supporting records and compliance schedules.
• Coordinate with external tax consultants, auditors, and relevant authorities and meet tax filing deadlines.

Financial accounting and reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other reports.
• Maintain ledger accounts and records; prepare trial balances and financial schedules.
• Perform bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, conduct internal checks, support audits, and assist with month- and year-end close.

Receivables and customer accounts

• Prepare customer invoices, including progress billing and variation invoices; prepare statements of account and maintain receivables files.
• Monitor outstanding invoices, follow up on payments, and maintain ageing reports.
• Coordinate with project teams and clients on payment certificates, invoice approvals, and outstanding payments.
• Maintain supporting documentation for invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, and payment certificates.

Cash flow and treasury

• Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts and monitor incoming and outgoing cash flows.
• Maintain petty cash records, vouchers, and reconciliations; prepare payment schedules and monitor supplier and subcontractor payments.
• Maintain accurate records of bank transactions and cash movements and support working capital management.

Construction accounting and administration

• Maintain project-wise accounting records and cost reports and monitor project expenses against approved budgets.
• Track subcontractor invoices, supplier bills, retention, and project payments; reconcile project costs, client billings, and subcontractor accounts.
• Assist with project profitability reports and cost-variance identification; maintain work order, purchase order, and project-variation documentation.
• Verify supplier invoices and expense claims; assist with accounts payable, supplier reconciliations, and expense classification.
• Record accounting transactions accurately and on time, maintain audit-ready files, protect financial confidentiality, and follow company procedures.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience coordinating with UAE-based external auditors and tax consultants is preferred.
• QuickBooks or ERP system knowledge and construction billing, payment certificate, retention, and subcontractor-account experience are preferred.
• ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualifications are advantageous.

Pay

• Pay starts at AED 5,000 per month.

• Work location is in person in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
