Role Description
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and performing month-end and year-end closings.
The role includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
The Senior Accountant will monitor accounts payable and receivable, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and assist with cash flow analysis.
The role will also involve coordinating with internal and external auditors, improving internal controls, and supporting the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, requiring close collaboration with finance leadership and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close processes, with the ability to prepare and review accurate financial statements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid skills in MS Excel and other productivity tools for reporting and analysis.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance internal controls, support audits, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) is mandatory.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, including prior responsibility at a senior or lead accountant level; experience in multinational or regional organizations is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Abu Dhabi and adapt to a diverse, fast-paced, and culturally inclusive work environment.
