Senior Accountant

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS financial statements; management reports, budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and financial analysis.
• Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, collections, credit control, and client account reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition for consulting, legal, licensing, visa, and government-related services.
• Monitor work-in-progress, deferred income, unbilled revenue, and client retainers where applicable.
• Review supplier invoices, oversee payments, perform bank reconciliations, and monitor expenses and internal financial controls.
• Prepare and support UAE VAT return filing and Corporate Tax compliance.
• Coordinate with external auditors and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Work with Operations, Sales, and other departments on billing and reporting; maintain accounting records across entities and business units.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, reporting, and automation; support ERP integrations and accounting and practice-management systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior accounting position.
• Professional services experience is required; relevant sectors include law firms/legal consultancy, business setup consultancy, corporate services, and management consultancy.
• ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA qualification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, UAE Corporate Tax, revenue recognition, accrual accounting, and financial controls.
• Strong accounting and financial reporting principles; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Zoho Books or similar accounting/ERP experience is preferred; Lexzur or similar legal practice-management system experience is an advantage.
• ERP systems, CRM integrations, and financial reporting tools experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Able to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and contribute in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Relevant industry knowledge

• Mainland, Free Zone, and Offshore company formation processes; government authority payments and reconciliations.
• Visa-related transactions and accounting, client retainers, milestone billing, legal matter billing, and revenue tracking.
• Commission calculations, intercompany accounting, and business-unit and entity-level reporting.

Success measures and reporting

Pay

• AED 12,000–15,000 per month.
