Senior Accountant

Role purpose

Accounting and project finance

• Record daily AP, AR, and General Ledger transactions; update and reconcile the accounting or ERP system; review records and maintain documentation.
• Track project costs, revenue, and budgets; record expenses, prepare job cost reports, and monitor project expenditures and cost variances.
• Process and verify supplier invoices, make timely payments, reconcile vendor accounts, prepare client invoices, and follow up on overdue receivables.
• Prepare UAE VAT returns, document taxable transactions, resolve discrepancies, and maintain tax compliance records.
• Assist with budgets and forecasts, monitor actual costs, prepare variance reports, and support financial planning and cost control.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, maintain petty cash records, and accurately record cash and bank transactions.
• Process monthly payroll and expense reimbursements; coordinate attendance, deductions, leave settlements, and advances with HR; comply with UAE and WPS requirements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and financial schedules; maintain records and audit documentation; assist auditors and resolve queries.
• Monitor project and operational costs, identify variances and savings opportunities, and coordinate with Procurement on supplier cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience.
• UAE accounting experience is preferred; experience in construction, contracting, or maintenance companies is highly preferred.
• Strong accounting principles and financial reporting knowledge; good knowledge of AP, AR, General Ledger, bank reconciliation, payroll, VAT, and project accounting.
• Practical knowledge of UAE VAT and WPS requirements and good knowledge of IFRS.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, accuracy, communication, and coordination skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Immediate joining is preferred.

Workplace

• Work location is in person in Dubai, UAE.

Compensation and benefits

• Pay is AED 5,000–7,000 per month; salary is based on experience and qualifications.
