Responsibilities
- Support students’ personal, social, academic, and career growth; monitor individual progress.
- Contact parents about student behavior; help prevent bullying and support affected students.
- Provide preventive and developmental counseling for social, behavioral, and personal problems.
- Deliver conflict-resolution classes and identify domestic abuse or family problems affecting students.
- Identify group-counseling needs and lead groups and classroom or small-group interventions.
- Coordinate career guidance, support academic course selection, and maintain career information resources.
- Support adolescent social development with awareness of cultural influences; refer at-risk students for outside-school interventions in consultation with parents.
- Maintain professionally appropriate confidentiality regarding student wellbeing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.
- Minimum of two years’ postgraduate experience.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Experience with students for whom English is an additional language.
- Respect for all members of the school community and a positive, solution-focused attitude.
- Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service or police check.
