Role summary
Conduct sanctions screening and investigations, identify potential matches, support transaction monitoring and account controls, and maintain regulatory-compliant documentation.
Responsibilities
- Screen new and existing customers, transactions, employees, and third parties for sanctions matches.
- Analyze alerts, assess false or true matches, investigate potential matches, gather evidence, and escalate to the Sanctions Manager.
- Stop or suspend transactions and implement approved freezes or temporary blocks for confirmed matches.
- Maintain accurate records and confidentiality; update sanctions lists and reflect regulatory changes in the system.
- Support requests from competent authorities, improve screening criteria, rescreen customers after list or data changes, and validate screening-system results.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent field; education may be replaced by years of experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in AML/CTF and sanctions.
Skills and languages
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and solid knowledge of compliance and regulations.
- Fluent English and Arabic.
