Sales Engineer

Role overview

Sales and business development

• Develop and execute sales strategies for marine and offshore products and services.
• Identify business opportunities and build relationships with shipowners, ship managers, offshore operators, shipyards, port authorities, government entities, and other customers.
• Generate opportunities through customer visits, cold calling, networking, industry contacts, exhibitions, and related activities.
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
• Negotiate commercial and technical matters through order confirmation and successful execution.

Technical and customer support

• Understand customer requirements and provide suitable technical and commercial solutions.
• Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, product presentations, and demonstrations.
• Handle technical queries and provide product or service information and recommendations.
• Coordinate with internal technical and service teams to execute customer requirements and maintain satisfaction.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer requirements, and emerging marine-sector opportunities.

Quotations and records

• Prepare and submit technical and commercial quotations, proposals, and tenders.
• Review specifications, enquiries, RFQs, and tender documents and coordinate responses with engineering, service, procurement, and operations teams.
• Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and customer meetings.
• Maintain customer, enquiry, quotation, and sales records using CRM and company systems.

Required qualifications and experience

• A bachelor's degree in marine, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline is required.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or business development in the marine, offshore, shipyard, or related industrial sector is required.
• Sound technical understanding of marine equipment, safety systems, firefighting systems, LSA/FFA equipment, automation, calibration, or related marine products and services is required.
• The candidate must interpret technical specifications, drawings, RFQs, and customer requirements and convert them into suitable solutions.
• Strong sales, negotiation, presentation, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are required.
• Effective communication with local and international customers is required.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office and CRM software is required.

Preferred experience

• Three years of marine sales engineering experience is preferred.
• Three years of B2B sales experience is preferred.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 6,000 to AED 8,000 per month.

Workplace

• The work location is in person.
