A contracting company seeks a qualified and experienced Safety Engineer to implement and monitor HSE procedures across construction sites.
The role focuses on regulatory, company, and project safety compliance and control of workplace hazards.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards at construction sites.
- Conduct inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments; identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements, and project safety standards.
- Prepare and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Job Safety Analysis, and other HSE documents.
- Conduct toolbox talks, inductions, and training for employees and subcontractors.
- Monitor safe practices for work at height, lifting, excavation, scaffolding, electrical work, hot work, and confined spaces.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and prepare reports.
- Maintain safety records and coordinate HSE matters with project teams and external parties.
- Ensure PPE use and safe work procedures; monitor emergency preparedness and participate in drills.
- Track corrective actions, provide HSE reports and recommendations, and promote ongoing safety improvement.
Requirements
- Qualified and experienced in safety engineering; specific degree, certification, and years requirements are not stated.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices.
- Excellent site supervision skills.
- Ability to identify and control workplace hazards.
