Role Overview
Risk Manager working on behalf of the Ministry of Defence across the Devonport Major Infrastructure Portfolio.
The assignment is a 12-month contract, hybrid three days a week in Plymouth or Portsmouth.
The role can only be worked within the UK, not overseas.
The work falls within UK public-sector off-payroll working legislation; quoted rates reflect gross daily assignment rates and are subject to applicable taxes and statutory costs.

Risk Manager working on behalf of the Ministry of Defence across the Devonport Major Infrastructure Portfolio.

Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve risk and issue management across the Devonport Major Infrastructure Portfolio.
- Establish consistent, proportionate, evidence-based risk and issue processes across portfolio, programme and project activity.
- Advise the SRO, Portfolio Head, programme and project leaders, governance bodies, and risk and issue owners.
- Help accountable owners understand exposure, develop mitigation or response plans, identify opportunities and escalate issues beyond agreed tolerances.
Essential requirements
- Extensive risk-management experience and experience working on major complex projects.
- Recognised Risk Management qualification at Practitioner level or equivalent.
- Membership of APM.
- Willingness and eligibility to undergo SC security checks; candidates with active clearance may be preferred.
Desirable experience
- Experience in project controls.
- Experience with NEC4 contracts.
- Experience with the government Yellow Book.
