Role overview

Five-month remote contract on behalf of the Food Standards Agency; the role can only be worked within the UK.

Leads HR systems and process improvements, including a new ATS and candidate sifting capability.

Coordinates HR, ODD, procurement, external suppliers, and other stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions and value for money.

Programme delivery

  • Lead the ATS and sifting implementation from initiation and design through testing, rollout, and early live operation.
  • Establish programme plans, governance, timelines, RAID logs, reporting, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, issues, blockers, costs, and progress against time and budget.

HR systems and process improvement

  • Design future-state processes with subject matter experts, aiming for simplicity, standardisation, and scalability.
  • Align recruitment, HR operations, and candidate experience processes; support the HR systems roadmap and automation.
  • Work with ODD, Workday, and suppliers to define requirements, shape solutions, and oversee delivery.
  • Lead ATS and sifting solution procurement and onboarding and manage third-party performance against contractual outcomes.

Governance and improvement

  • Establish governance and assurance frameworks and track benefits, costs, service improvements, risks, and performance.
  • Use data and insight to identify and prioritise ongoing enhancements.
  • Build stakeholder relationships and provide clear direction and challenge.

Essential criteria

  • Solid understanding of HR systems architecture, integrations, and data flows.
  • Experience delivering HR systems implementations or transformation programmes, including an ATS in a project environment.
  • Experience with systems implementation and tight delivery timescales.
  • Confidence working with technical teams and vendors without being the subject matter expert.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and engage stakeholders across the business.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience with waterfall, agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Understanding of platform configuration, process design, end-to-end recruitment processes, and candidate journeys.
  • Working knowledge of Workday, especially recruitment, integrations, or optimisation.

Work arrangement

  • The contract is remote and may only be worked within the UK, not overseas.
