Supervises staff during assigned shifts and oversees daily retail store operations.
Models customer service, education, and compliance standards and serves as a knowledge resource for team members.
Job duties
- Open and close the store, operate alarms, maintain store presentation, and keep the front of house organized.
- Assist customers with product knowledge, recommendations, sales information, and service; assist cashiers and manage cash.
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing education; reinforce policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Address customer complaints professionally and escalate employee issues or customer inquiries when needed.
- Support sales strategies and targets, communicate customer-relevant changes, and suggest technology solutions where appropriate.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of retail sales principles, customer service, troubleshooting, and cash management.
- Ability to guide and motivate employees; strong communication, conflict-resolution, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
- Familiarity with security alarms, data entry and editing skills, and ability to learn sales software quickly.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Two years of retail experience and experience across customer-service functions.
- High school diploma or GED, clear criminal record, and provincial cannabis certification.
Working conditions
- Work requires desktop computer and peripheral use, prolonged standing, and ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Overtime may be required.
