Job Overview
The Retail Experience Lead opens and closes the store, oversees daily operations, and supervises staff during an assigned shift.
The role maintains store appearance and product presentation while supporting customer service, cash management, administration, compliance, and education.
Job Duties
- Open and close the store, including activating and deactivating security alarms.
- Supervise staff, assist cashiers, and provide exemplary customer service and product education.
- Support onboarding, training, continuous education, sales strategies, and team performance.
- Handle complaints, escalate employee issues, communicate operational changes, and suggest technology solutions.
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of retail sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Strong customer service, troubleshooting, communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
- Familiarity with security alarm systems, sales software, data entry, data editing, and typing.
- Strong organization, time management, adaptability, work ethic, and team orientation.
Education and Experience
- Two years of retail industry experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in all aspects of customer service.
- Clear criminal record and provincial cannabis certification.
Working Conditions
- The role requires manual dexterity for computer and peripheral use, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Overtime may be required.
