Leads assigned retail shifts, overseeing daily store operations and supervising staff.
Acts as a team knowledge resource and steward of customer service, education, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store, activate and deactivate alarms, and complete administrative and cash management duties.
- Supervise staff, assist cashiers, and model high-quality customer service and conduct.
- Help customers with product knowledge, suggestions, promotions, and relationship-building.
- Support onboarding, training, and continued education; motivate staff to meet sales goals.
- Maintain store appearance, product presentation, and a clean, organized front of house.
- Reinforce policies, procedures, regulations, education, and compliance standards.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate employee issues to the manager.
- Communicate changes to policies, procedures, products, services, and promotions; suggest technology solutions as needed.
Requirements
- Two years of retail industry experience and experience across customer service.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Clear criminal record and Provincial Cannabis Certification required.
- Strong retail sales knowledge, communication, customer service, troubleshooting, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with security alarm systems; ability to learn sales software quickly; data entry, editing, and typing skills.
- Experience with cash management and ability to guide and motivate employees.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, lift 25 pounds, use desktop computer equipment, and work overtime as required.
Working conditions
- Store-based role involving standing for extended periods and use of a desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime may be required.
