Job Description About The Role As a Relationship Officer within Business Banking Acquisition, you will be responsible for generating new business from the Distribution–Liability segment. You will play a key role in delivering a strong customer experience through timely lead management, high‑quality sales engagement, and strict adherence to compliance and regulatory standards. This role is ideal for a driven sales professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, target‑oriented environment and is passionate about building long‑term customer relationships.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing assigned digital and manual leads (DBO and BAIS) end‑to‑end, ensuring customers are contacted within defined timelines.
- Engaging customers professionally and progressing leads through onboarding, documentation, and account opening stages.
- Reviewing applications received through SEQ, coordinating EID verification, application signing, and document checks.
- Submitting complete and accurate applications into internal systems and following through until account opening.
- Communicating with customers to resolve queries and provide updates throughout the onboarding journey.
- Ensuring all customer communication is documented and aligned with agreed processes.
- Meeting turnaround times and ensuring error‑free processing in line with “Mission Zero” standards.
- Cross‑selling Business Banking and non‑Business Banking products where appropriate.
- Maintaining full compliance with KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Collaborating with internal teams such as Operations, Compliance, and Business Banking support units to ensure smooth processing.
- Taking ownership of assigned leads and delivering a consistently positive customer experience.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in banking sales, relationship management, or a Relationship Officer role.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage customers professionally.
- Proven ability to manage leads, meet timelines, and work in a target‑driven environment.
- Good understanding of Business Banking or SME products and customer needs.
- Strong customer‑relationship skills with a focus on service quality and retention.
- High attention to detail with the ability to process applications accurately and compliantly.
- Sound awareness of risk management concepts, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Self‑motivated, disciplined, and able to manage priorities independently while working as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to acquire new business accounts, targeting corporate clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential corporate clients.
- Understand client needs and provide tailored banking solutions, including products and services.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering expert guidance and support to clients.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of banking services to clients.
- Handle client inquiries and provide timely responses, ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Prepare and present proposals and presentations to clients, showcasing the bank's capabilities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and transactions.
- Stay updated with industry developments and regulatory changes, ensuring compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Relationship Officer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of business banking products and services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centric approach.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients.
- Analytical skills to interpret market trends and client needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant banking software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to stay updated with industry developments and regulations.
