About The Role
We are looking for an experienced
Relationship Manager – SME Banking
to join the Wholesale Banking team of a well-established UAE bank.
The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring new SME clients, growing an assigned portfolio, structuring lending solutions, and managing long-term customer relationships.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in SME lending, credit analysis, and business development within the UAE banking sector.
The position offers excellent exposure across business development, credit structuring, portfolio management, and cross-selling of banking products.
Business Development
- Develop and acquire new SME banking relationships across targeted business segments.
- Build a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and market prospecting.
- Achieve assigned business development, lending, revenue, and cross-selling targets.
- Promote the Bank's SME banking solutions to new and existing customers.
Relationship Management
- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of SME clients.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with business owners and key decision-makers.
- Understand customers' financing requirements and recommend appropriate banking solutions.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive relationship management.
Credit Assessment & Structuring
- Conduct detailed financial analysis of SME customers.
- Assess business performance, repayment capacity, and financial health.
- Prepare high-quality credit proposals and credit recommendation papers.
- Structure lending facilities in accordance with internal credit policies and risk appetite.
- Coordinate with Credit, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams throughout the approval process.
Portfolio Management
- Monitor portfolio quality and identify early warning signals.
- Conduct periodic client reviews and annual credit renewals.
- Ensure timely submission of financial statements and covenant compliance.
- Manage delinquency risks while maintaining strong client relationships.
Product Coverage
Manage and originate financing solutions including:
• Working Capital Facilities
- Trade Finance
- Equipment Finance
• Mortgage-backed SME Lending
- Business Loans
- Term Loans
- Overdraft Facilities
- Bank Guarantees
- Letters of Credit
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all lending proposals comply with the Bank's credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong credit quality across the portfolio.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all approved facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- MBA, CFA, CA, CPA, or other professional banking qualifications will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum
- 3–5 years of UAE banking experience

- 3 years in SME Banking or Commercial Banking

- Strong knowledge of UAE SME lending products and credit processes.
