A global, commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to transforming the lives of patients and their families living with rare diseases requires a Regional Director to help launch their products in the GCC.
They develop medicines for previously untreatable or undertreated diseases and provide meaningful support for healthcare providers and patients and their families
The Regional Director will lead operational execution for product across indications covered by the local market access program.
Working collaboratively with international cross-functional teams and the local distributor, you will implement the medico-marketing strategy in GCC, liaise with HCPs and hospital staff to support the set-up of Centers of Excellence for the indications of relevance.
About the Role
- In close collaboration with the appointed GCC distributor, develop the local launch plan ensuring alignment with global and international strategies and tactics.
- Own distributor-led operational performance for the product in the GCC by setting clear expectations, KPIs; tracking performance, challenging plans and forecasts, identifying risks and gaps, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Build and enable distributor capabilities, overseeing the training, and performance management of the field force, ensuring behaviors, ways of working and cross-functional collaboration meet company standards and brand strategy.
- Establish and maintain trusted, long term relationships with external experts in hospitals and relevant office-based HCPs, patient advocacy groups and payers.
- In alignment with the International Operations team, lead and coordinate patient identification and patient support programs to secure best in class patient adherence and outcome.
- Lead regional and national conferences, expert advice meetings and best in class local educational meetings.
- Support the development and expansion of comprehensive care centers.
- Map patient journeys, diagnosis and therapeutic patterns, while building and developing peer-to-peer relationships with the relevant external experts.
- Facilitate referral pathways between peripheral sites and care centers (hub and spoke model), jointly driving implementation with the distributor.
- Lead an omnichannel approach to convey the scientific content to the relevant target groups.
- Gather, analyze and share market and competitive insights.
- Ensure adherence to local laws, ethical standards, and corporate compliance policies while optimizing resource utilization.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a pharmaceutical, scientific, or medical field (PharmD, PhD, MS) or equivalent
- A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including at least 3 years as a country/business lead in GCC with a demonstrated record of success
- Commercial acumen including strategic & tactical planning skills
- Experience in leading and executing successful product launches in complex healthcare environments
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, payors, policymakers, agencies, external experts and patient associations
- Prior experience in rare diseases and/or high value medicine is highly preferred
- Knowledge of regional/local specific healthcare systems, the evolving medical landscape, reimbursement and industry trends
