Purpose Statement
This role is responsible for driving strategic growth, market expansion, and business development initiatives across the Middle East and Africa to deliver on the revenue targets for the region.
The role will identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities, build strong customer and partner relationships, and shape the regional growth agenda in alignment with the company’s business strategy.
This role requires a commercially strong, externally focused leader with deep understanding of the MEA market landscape, the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, and a proven track record of delivering growth across diverse markets, preferably in telecom and life sciences.
The incumbent will work closely with regional and global business leaders and cross-functional teams to accelerate revenue growth and strengthen the company’s market presence across the region.
1. Strategic Growth & Market Development
- Develop and execute the business development strategy for the Middle East & Africa region in line with enterprise and regional growth priorities.
- Identify and prioritize new market opportunities, customer segments, strategic accounts, and channel/partner ecosystems to accelerate profitable growth.
- Build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline across key markets in the region.
- Assess market trends, competitive activity, regulatory developments, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions and go-to-market approaches.
- Support market entry, expansion, and diversification initiatives across priority countries and sectors.
2. Customer & Partner Engagement
- Establish and grow senior-level relationships with key customers, distributors, partners, industry bodies, and other external stakeholders.
- Lead business development efforts for strategic accounts and high-value opportunities, including early-stage opportunity shaping and customer engagement.
- Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships, alliances, and channel opportunities that strengthen regional market access and commercial reach.
- Represent the company in customer forums, industry events, and market-facing engagements across the region.
3. Commercial Leadership
- Drive opportunity qualification, deal development, and commercial negotiations to deliver on the revenue target for the region.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop compelling value propositions and commercial strategies tailored to local market needs.
- Support revenue growth by converting strategic opportunities into sustainable business outcomes.
- Contribute to forecasting, pipeline reviews, and growth planning processes for the region.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with regional and global commercial, product, marketing, supply chain, finance, legal, and operations teams to enable effective execution of growth initiatives.
- Partner with internal business leaders to align regional opportunities with product capabilities, operational readiness, and long-term strategic priorities.
- Ensure disciplined governance, compliance, and risk management across all business development activities.
5. Leadership & Capability Building
- Act as a key growth leader for the MEA region, bringing market insight, strategic thinking, and external perspective to business planning.
- Influence and align diverse stakeholders across geographies, businesses, and functions to drive business outcomes.
- Where applicable, lead and coach a small regional business development team or matrixed resources.

- Growth in qualified pipeline and new business opportunities across MEA
- Achievement of regional revenue targets
- Revenue contribution from new accounts, new markets, or strategic growth initiatives
- Expansion of customer relationships and partner ecosystem in priority markets
- Strengthened regional market presence and competitive positioning
- Successful execution of market development and commercial growth plans
& Experience
- MBA with BD/sales experience of a min of 12-15 years with a multinational company
- B2B experience will be preferred
- Industry experience in telecom and life sciences will be preferred
- Proven track record of revenue generation from a new business, segment or new customer
- Ability to converse in local regional languages like Arabic and French will be a significant advantage
