Railway System Interface Manager

Mission

Interface management and integration

• Manage railway scenarios, requirements, architecture, and subsystem interactions involving rolling stock, signaling, tracks, and power supply.
• Select technologies and configurations for new rail projects.
• Coordinate interface development, verification, validation, and closure across the project lifecycle.
• Manage external stakeholder interfaces and complete applicable authorization processes.
• Ensure interoperability and compatibility across subsystems and applicable national and international standards.
• Ensure integrated subsystems meet performance and functionality requirements for planned scenarios.

Verification and lifecycle

• Enable integration testing and ensure systems meet project requirements, standards, and laws.
• Define and monitor the interface verification and validation plan.
• Manage railway upgrades and modernization projects.
• Support asset management and maintenance planning to maximize system longevity.

Digital rail technologies

• Implement IoT, AI, and Big Data solutions for predictive maintenance and automation.
• Work with Digital Twin, Remote Monitoring, and Smart Signaling technologies.

Education and experience

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of railway systems engineering experience, with strong proficiency in interface management.
• Experience focusing on sustainability in railway systems and infrastructure design, construction, and operation.
• Experience with large-scale railway system deployment projects and V-Model, Agile, or Waterfall methodologies.

Railway systems expertise

• Rolling stock, including locomotives, EMUs, DMUs, and high-speed trains; signaling including ETCS, CBTC, PTC, and interlocking.
• Electrification systems including 25kV AC, 750V DC, and 3kV DC; standard-gauge, high-speed, light rail, and metro infrastructure.
• Interface management across hardware, software, and infrastructure; mixed high-speed, freight, and commuter operations.
• CENELEC EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129; ETCS/ERTMS; IEC 62290; UIC, AAR, and FRA regulations.
• Tools listed include DOORS, Enterprise Architect, ReliaSoft, FMECA/FTA tools, MATLAB, Simulink, and CATIA.
