QA And QC Engineer – Steel Structure

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC procedures for structural steel fabrication, erection, and installation activities.
• Ensure all work complies with approved drawings, project specifications, client requirements, applicable codes, and quality standards.
• Prepare, review, and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, quality reports, and inspection records.
• Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and project teams.
• Conduct material receiving inspections and verify material test certificates (MTCs) and supporting quality documentation.
• Perform quality inspections during fabrication, welding, painting, galvanizing, and site erection activities.
• Monitor welding activities, verify WPS/PQR compliance, welder qualifications, and NDT requirements.
• Identify non-conformities (NCRs), recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and monitor their effective implementation.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, HSE teams, fabrication teams, and subcontractors to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports and maintain complete project quality documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ISO quality management systems, client specifications, and project quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum
• 5–8 years
• of QA/QC experience in structural steel fabrication and construction projects.
• Proven experience in quality inspections for structural steel fabrication, welding, coating, and erection works.
• GCC/Saudi Arabia project experience will be preferred.
• Relevant QA/QC certifications and knowledge of international construction codes and standards will be an advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures for structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Excellent understanding of welding inspections, NDT methods, painting/coating inspections, and material quality control.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and inspection documents.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards, QA/QC documentation, ITPs, Method Statements, and inspection processes.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities with clients, consultants, and project teams.
• Ability to identify quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
