Job Summary -
The QA/QC Joinery Inspector is responsible for inspecting and monitoring all joinery manufacturing activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, client requirements, and company quality standards.
This role involves conducting inspections throughout the production process, identifying non-conformities, and ensuring that finished products meet the required quality standards before delivery and installation.
Incoming Material Inspection
- Inspect incoming raw materials and components, including MDF, plywood, solid wood, veneers, laminates, hardware, glass, stone, and accessories.
- Verify material specifications, dimensions, finishes, and quality against approved submittals and purchase orders.
- Report and document any non-conforming materials.
In-Process Quality Inspection
- Conduct inspections at various stages of production, including cutting, machining, edge banding, veneering, assembly, polishing, painting, and finishing.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, alignment, workmanship, and assembly quality.
- Ensure manufacturing activities comply with approved shop drawings and production specifications.
- Monitor adherence to quality procedures and workmanship standards.
Finished Product Inspection
- Perform final inspections of completed joinery products before packing and dispatch.
- Verify product functionality, dimensions, finish quality, hardware installation, and overall appearance.
- Ensure products are free from defects, damages, scratches, dents, color inconsistencies, or workmanship issues.
- Approve products for delivery only after meeting quality requirements.
Site Installation Inspection
- Conduct inspections of installed joinery works at project sites when required.
- Verify installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify defects and snag items and coordinate corrective actions with project and installation teams.
- Participate in client and consultant inspections during project execution and handover.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, quality records, and punch lists.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for identified quality issues and monitor corrective actions.
- Maintain records of inspections, test results, approvals, and quality observations.
- Submit daily, weekly, and project-specific quality reports as required.
Quality Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and project quality plans.
- Support internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and rework.
- Promote a quality-focused culture throughout the manufacturing process.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Follow company HSE policies and procedures during inspections.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and potential hazards.
- Ensure inspection activities are conducted safely and responsibly.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Wood Technology, Carpentry, Joinery, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional quality-related certifications are an advantage.
- ISO 9001 awareness or Internal Auditor certification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality control within joinery manufacturing, furniture production, woodworking, or interior fit-out industries.
- Experience in custom-made furniture, doors, wardrobes, kitchens, wall cladding, and architectural joinery is preferred.
- Experience with luxury residential, hospitality, retail, or commercial projects is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of joinery manufacturing processes and woodworking techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, production drawings, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with wood products, veneers, laminates, finishes, paints, and hardware systems.
- Knowledge of inspection methods, quality standards, and defect identification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality reporting documentation.
