Job Summary
The Joinery Detailer/Cutlister is responsible for preparing detailed joinery shop drawings and accurate cutting lists for production, ensuring efficiency, precision, and alignment with project specifications.
The role plays a critical part in supporting Rely Industries’ in-house manufacturing and turnkey fit-out operations, ensuring that all joinery elements are properly detailed and optimized for factory production and site installation.
Joinery Detailing & Shop Drawings
- Prepare detailed joinery shop drawings including sections, elevations, and fabrication details
- Interpret design drawings and convert them into production-ready drawings
- Develop detailed drawings for custom furniture, cabinetry, wall cladding, and fit-out elements
Cutting Lists & Material Optimization
- Prepare accurate cutting lists (cutlists) for all joinery components
- Optimize material usage to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency
- Generate board layouts and nesting details (where applicable)
- Ensure alignment between drawings and material requirements
Coordination & Collaboration
- Coordinate with:
- Design team
- Project managers
- Factory and production teams
- Clarify technical details prior to production
- Ensure all drawings reflect actual site measurements and conditions
Production Support
- Provide technical support to factory teams during manufacturing
- Ensure all drawings are clear, practical, and buildable
- Assist in resolving production-related issues
- Update drawings based on production or site feedback
Fit-Out & Custom Fabrication
- Detail joinery works for:
- Retail fit-outs (shops, kiosks, showrooms)
- Exhibition stands and displays
- Custom-made furniture and thematic elements
- Work with various materials including:
- Wood and MDF
- Veneer and laminates
- Metal and acrylic components
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all drawings and cutlists comply with:
- Project specifications
- Company quality standards
- UAE fit-out and safety requirements
- Review and revise drawings as required
Site & Measurement Support
- Conduct site visits for measurements when required
- Verify dimensions before finalizing production drawings
- Update drawings based on site changes
Key Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numerical and analytical skills (for cutlisting)
- Ability to meet tight production deadlines
- Problem-solving mindset
- Strong coordination between design and factory teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Technical Skills
- AutoCAD (mandatory)
- Excel (advanced – for cutlists and material tracking)
• SketchUp / Revit (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Joinery detailing and fabrication methods
- Cutting list preparation and material optimization
- Fit-out construction processes
- Materials (MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates, metal, acrylic)
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in joinery detailing / cutlisting within fit-out, interiors, or exhibitions
- UAE or GCC experience is highly preferred
- Experience working with factory production teams is essential
- Office and factory-based role with occasional site visits
- Close coordination with production teams
- Flexibility during peak production periods
