Role Description
This is a part-time, remote role for a Quality Assurance Manager.
The Quality Assurance Manager will develop, implement, and maintain quality standards and procedures for imported and distributed food products.
Daily responsibilities include reviewing product specifications and certificates, monitoring supplier compliance with regulatory and company quality requirements, and managing documentation related to quality control and food safety.
The role involves coordinating with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to address quality issues, investigating customer complaints, and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
The Quality Assurance Manager will also conduct risk assessments, support internal audits, and provide guidance on best practices in quality management and food safety.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in quality management systems, including developing and maintaining QA policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, such as HACCP, ISO, or equivalent regulations relevant to food import and distribution.
- Experience with product inspection, supplier evaluation, and managing nonconformities and corrective actions.
- Ability to analyze quality data, prepare reports, and present findings to internal stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a part-time, remote setting.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Proficiency with standard office and quality-related software tools for documentation, reporting, and data tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in quality or food safety are an advantage.
- Prior experience in food distribution
