The Quality Assurance Manager leads quality strategy, systems, inspection and testing, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The role works with production, engineering, operations, and management to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and meet customer expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain quality policies, procedures, systems, standards, objectives, and inspection criteria.
- Oversee inspections, testing, quality control, audits, and process evaluations.
- Monitor quality performance, resolve non-conformities and complaints, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate across teams and suppliers to reduce quality risks, defects, waste, and rework.
- Maintain quality records and ensure employees follow procedures and work instructions.
- Lead and develop quality personnel; report performance, risks, and recommendations to senior management.
- Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement using approaches such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and legal and regulatory obligations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Manager, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality assurance principles, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and relevant industry quality standards.
- Experience with audits, non-conformities, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Understanding of quality metrics, statistical process control, and performance monitoring.
- Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency; experience with quality software, ERP systems, or statistical tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, or 8D is advantageous.
- A related bachelor’s degree is preferred; relevant certifications and supplier, regulatory, or customer quality experience are advantageous.
