Job Summary
The QA/QC Engineer ensures work and projects are delivered based on good work practices and project specifications to meet or exceed client expectations.
Implements international quality standards plans and quality procedures in all construction activities.
Assists in developing the Project Quality Management System by establishing procedures, plans, and work instructions as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Project QA/QC Manager or Sr. QA/QC Engineer in implementing the quality management system at site.
- Prepare work inspection requests (WIR) for each construction activity and submit to the consultant.
- Check all incoming materials as per project specifications and approved material submittals.
- Monitor WIRs and test reports and update the Quality Manager and site team on status.
- Establish and monitor control of QA/QC Plans, Method Statements, and Test Plans.
- Ensure document control procedures are implemented and approved documents are distributed.
- Check Inspection and Test Plans and ensure method statements and test plans are submitted per the approved ITP.
- Verify work inspections are carried out as per plan and advise the construction team on corrective actions.
- Inspect materials internally before consultant inspection and raise NCRs to suppliers for substandard material.
- Maintain records of all work and material inspections and provide data in weekly progress meetings.
- Record test results and ensure availability of steel mill certificates and test logs.
- Support HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of work-related standards, specifications, and quality systems such as ISO 9001, QCS, SMACNA, ASHRAE, and NFPA.
- Technical experience dealing with various QC issues.
- In-depth knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) or Integrated Management System (IMS).
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience and Education
- Bachelor's in civil engineering or any related engineering field.
