Project Manager – Major EPC Oil & Gas Projects

Our client is a world‑class Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) organisation and a recognised leader in the global Oil & Gas sector. Renowned for delivering some of the industry’s most complex and technically demanding projects, they set the benchmark for innovation, engineering excellence, and uncompromising safety standards.

As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large‑scale EPC projects from early concept through to successful completion. This is a senior, high‑impact role offering genuine influence over project strategy, execution, and performance across international energy developments.

Scope of Role

As Project Manager, you will hold full responsibility for end‑to‑end project delivery, ensuring all objectives are achieved safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual and regulatory frameworks. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage key stakeholders, and drive world‑class project execution standards at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Develop and deliver integrated project execution plans and strategies
• Define project scope, key deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements
• Lead project kick‑off and alignment sessions with stakeholders
• Oversee day‑to‑day execution to ensure performance, productivity, and quality targets are met

Budgeting & Commercial Control

• Prepare, manage, and forecast project budgets and cash flow
• Implement effective cost‑control and financial governance processes
• Review, evaluate, and approve variations, claims, and change orders

Scheduling & Progress Management

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project
• Monitor critical paths, milestones, and schedule risks
• Provide clear, accurate progress and performance reports to senior management

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and client specifications
• Partner closely with QA/QC and HSE teams throughout execution
• Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Stakeholder & Interface Management

• Act as the primary interface between clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Manage client expectations and maintain strong, trusted relationships
• Deliver regular technical, commercial, and strategic updates to leadership

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify project risks and implement robust mitigation strategies
• Proactively manage issues, disputes, and deviations
• Maintain accurate records of contractual correspondence, variations, and claims

Leadership & Resource Management

• Optimise allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment
• Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing project teams
• Coordinate seamlessly across engineering, procurement, and construction functions

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent)
• 15+ years’ experience in Oil & Gas or Refinery projects, including 5+ years in a Project Manager role
• Strong working knowledge of EPC project environments
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and Primavera P6
• PMP and/or PRINCE2 certification highly desirable
• Solid understanding of international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.)
