Project Engineer

Role overview

Project delivery and coordination

• Review contracts, specifications, approved drawings, and technical submissions to confirm scope and execution requirements.
• Conduct site surveys and readiness inspections covering shaft dimensions, access, power supply, storage, lifting arrangements, and system interfaces.
• Develop schedules for engineering approvals, materials, logistics, installation, testing, and handover.
• Coordinate materials and deliveries with factories, supply chain, logistics providers, and site teams.
• Plan and manage subcontractors, installation teams, tools, materials, and specialist resources.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and delays, and implement recovery plans.
• Coordinate technical, access, sequencing, and site-readiness issues with customers, consultants, contractors, and other trades.

Commercial, safety, quality, and handover

• Lead site safety through risk assessments, toolbox talks, field inspections, and corrective actions.
• Maintain records and contractual correspondence related to instructions, approvals, delays, access constraints, and changes.
• Identify scope deviations and support variation orders and commercial claims.
• Monitor costs, labor efficiency, billing, collections, forecasts, and project financial performance; initiate purchase requests for project needs.
• Conduct stage-wise quality inspections and close nonconformities and outstanding work before testing and handover.
• Plan testing, commissioning, regulatory inspections, and final handover.
• Prepare progress reports, customer updates, risk reviews, and management forecasts, and build customer relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, mechatronics, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• At least 6 years of project execution experience in the elevator and escalator industry, including new equipment installation.
• Experience independently managing a high-volume portfolio of projects across different execution stages.
• Strong knowledge of elevator installation, technical drawings, site requirements, mechanical and electrical interfaces, testing, quality control, and field safety.
• Commercial and contractual experience covering cost control, forecasting, variations, claims, subcontractors, billing, and collections.

Skills and additional requirements

• Strong planning, problem-solving, customer-management, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project scheduling tools; Microsoft Project or Primavera experience is preferred.
• Strong written and spoken English, including professional reports and contractual correspondence.
• Regular travel between project sites in Dubai and other UAE locations may be required.
• A valid UAE driving license is preferred.
