The Project Engineer organizes and controls engineering projects and coordinates project elements from planning through completion.
The role covers technical studies, specifications, scheduling, costs, testing, contractor administration, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Review project proposals and plans, confer with management, and develop project objectives.
- Identify project phases and elements, assign personnel, and review contractor bids.
- Study product design, customer requirements, and performance standards to determine specifications.
- Complete technical studies, prepare cost estimates, and conduct product performance tests.
- Develop project schedules, monitor progress, coordinate activities, and resolve problems.
- Review designs, specifications, and plans, then recommend actions for schedule or scope changes.
- Approve expenditures, administer contractor contracts, and control project costs.
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Enforce procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Maintain project data by writing computer programs, entering information, and backing up data.
- Comply with federal and state regulations to maintain product and company reputation.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a Project Engineer is required.
- A Civil Engineer Diploma is required.
- The position requires in-person work.
