Role overview

Royal Mail's Future ERP programme will replace fragmented, end-of-life systems with an integrated SAP landscape.

The HR transformation includes SuccessFactors Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll, covering Core HR, Payroll, Onboarding, Compensation and Variable Pay, and document management.

The programme aims to improve processes, employee experience, payroll resilience and accuracy, compliance, and enterprise data integration.

Programme delivery

  • Own the HR ERP technology delivery lifecycle and align it with Royal Mail's strategic objectives.
  • Mobilise the programme, establish workstreams and delivery tranches, and maintain an integrated roadmap across HR, Payroll, Finance, Data, and Integration.
  • Set objectives, success measures, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Build investment cases and lead programme benefits planning and tracking.

Governance and leadership

  • Run programme governance and reporting, including updates to senior forums.
  • Enable project delivery through strong initiation, scope control, integrated planning, financial management, and risk and issue management.
  • Ensure appropriate assurance for payroll-critical and people-impacting releases.
  • Lead senior stakeholder, system integrator, and software vendor relationships.
  • Lead programme teams, recruit and retain talent, mentor Project Managers and Business Analysts, and support continuous improvement.

Candidate profile

  • Track record delivering large-scale technology programmes or portfolios with accountability for outcomes and benefits.
  • Experience delivering ERP or major enterprise platforms in complex, regulated environments; SAP is preferred.
  • Able to translate HR and Payroll target states into executable roadmaps.
  • Strong leadership, financial, commercial, and risk management capabilities.
  • Experience where payroll accuracy, data integrity, and compliance are mission critical.
  • Able to influence senior and executive stakeholders and operate through ambiguity and change.

Workplace

  • Hybrid working in London Farringdon, three days per week.

Compensation and employment

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Competitive salary, car allowance, and potential annual bonus of 18%.

Benefits

  • Benefits include healthcare, annual leave that rises with service, and a company pension scheme.
