Role overview

Portfolio governance and delivery

• Govern the portfolio and align it with corporate strategy, investment priorities, and quantifiable business value.
• Establish disciplined execution governance, portfolio controls, reporting, and change governance.
• Monitor portfolio risks, issues, dependencies, timelines, and impacts, escalating material concerns to senior management.
• Coordinate delivery teams and work with program managers to resolve issues and handle escalations.
• Promote accountability, transparency, portfolio management maturity, and outcome-focused delivery.

Planning, resources, and value

• Engage business, technology, enablement, and control teams on strategic objectives and annual demand planning.
• Participate in demand prioritization and consolidate portfolio requirements.
• Review portfolio financials and define a master resource plan covering required skills and staffing.
• Define benefits in business cases and track benefit realization after projects go live.
• Transition closed projects to the Value & Reporting team for value tracking.

Reporting and stakeholders

• Prepare and run monthly Portfolio Governance Committee meetings, reporting status, portfolio health, highlights, and recommendations.
• Define portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and reporting structures; prepare status reports and present in governance forums.
• Provide clear, concise information and insights to senior management and executive committees.
• Maintain visibility of portfolio risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and management support needs.

Experience and qualifications

• University degree in Technology, Management, or equivalent; experience in Banking IT or PMO.
• 15+ years of total experience, including at least 5 years overseeing or running large programs of work.
• At least 10 years managing portfolios, project governance, and delivery; experience managing a team of 5–10 people.
• Experience reporting to and presenting for executive audiences, including engagement with SVP-level stakeholders.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification; SAFe or another agile certification.
• MBA or equivalent master's degree is preferred.

• Executive reporting, presentation, communication, stakeholder management, and concise data analysis.
• Managing concurrent projects and programs, interdependencies, risks, and issues.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies; proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel.
• Cross-functional collaboration, coaching, integrity, confidentiality, multitasking, and delivery under tight deadlines.
