The Web Engineer II develops and enhances frontend applications and contributes to backend APIs and services supporting web, mobile, and financing products.
Responsibilities
- Guide Agile and Scrum practices, mentor colleagues, and lead team ceremonies across the software development lifecycle.
- Translate Product requirements into high-quality frontend code and coordinate integration with Backend, Mobile, and QA teams.
- Contribute to frontend standards and knowledge sharing; define test cases with QA and support automated and manual testing.
- Lead code reviews and improve code quality, architecture, and maintainability.
- Automate testing and deployment through CI/CD and help deliver releases with minimal downtime.
- Monitor progress, anticipate challenges, improve team processes, and maintain technical and process documentation.
Experience and technical requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience focused on frontend development.
- Familiarity with major JavaScript frameworks; React JS experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript, including ES2023, asynchronous programming, and concurrent rendering concepts.
- Experience with software development, design, and architecture, with security in mind; practical knowledge of OOP and SOLID.
- Experience with Agile practices, pairing, TDD, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Experience optimizing web performance and Web Vitals, including TTFB, TTI, and FCP.
- Experience with web application design, state management, and unit and integration testing.
- Understand common web security vulnerabilities and performance issues and how to debug them.
- Strong customer focus, accessible application design, knowledge of accessibility standards, and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
- Next.js 15 and features such as server components, streaming, and static site generation are a plus.
