Oversee day-to-day purchasing and longer-term procurement strategy across The Stafford London hotel.
Ensure products, services, and supplies are available while achieving value, quality, and suitable commercial terms.
Purchasing operations
- Manage hotel purchasing, purchase orders, records, deliveries, and urgent purchasing needs.
- Work with departments to understand requirements and monitor stock and inventory to maintain appropriate levels and minimize waste.
- Coordinate with suppliers on orders, delivery, shortages, quality issues, and discrepancies; check agreed specifications and delivery requirements.
- Monitor prices and availability and maintain accurate purchasing records.
Procurement strategy and suppliers
- Develop sourcing strategies; research suppliers and products; negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and service levels.
- Support tenders and quotations, review supplier arrangements, and identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers.
- Maintain supplier frameworks and preferred supplier arrangements; monitor performance and address shortfalls.
- Assess total cost of ownership and manage supply continuity, dependency, and contractual risks.
Stakeholders and governance
- Build supplier relationships and act as a contact for supplier queries and commercial discussions.
- Work with department heads, operational teams, Finance, and senior leaders on requirements, budgets, performance, and procurement risks.
- Maintain supplier documents, contracts, and records; support reviews, renewals, due diligence, and procurement controls.
- Support more sustainable procurement practices and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
Candidate profile
- Previous purchasing, procurement, or supply-chain management experience; luxury hospitality, hotels, or a similar high-end environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier management, and procurement practices.
- Experience negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, and commercial terms, and managing purchase orders, stock, and inventory.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify cost-saving and value-adding opportunities.
