Supports cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for MBZUAI’s academic and operational objectives.
Executes day-to-day procurement processes and collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Procurement and supplier coordination
- Manage end-to-end procurement in line with university policies and procedures.
- Prepare tender documents, requests for quotations, and bid specifications.
- Evaluate bids and proposals and assist with supplier negotiations.
- Process purchase orders and monitor fulfillment for timely delivery.
- Work with departments and research centers to understand needs and develop solutions.
- Maintain supplier relationships and assist with procurement strategies.
Analysis and improvement
- Analyze procurement data to identify cost savings, optimize supply chains, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare management reports and presentations covering KPIs, risks, and recommended actions.
- Contribute to procurement policy and procedure improvements and develop digital and automation initiatives.
- Review the procurement roadmap, identify process improvements, and contribute to KPI development.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, business administration, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of procurement, supply chain, or contract management experience in a similar higher education or public-sector role.
- Demonstrated experience with procurement execution, sourcing, bidding, and vendor management.
- Proficiency applying procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred qualifications
- University or research-environment experience and knowledge of higher-education or public-sector procurement practices are preferred.
- Familiarity with procurement technologies and automation tools, process improvement, continuous optimization, and budget management or forecasting is preferred.
