The Procurement Manager leads global category strategy, sourcing, and supplier management for Editorial Production Operations across RELX businesses.
The role covers content services, technology platforms, AI-enabled technologies, SaaS, customer services, and translation providers.
The position partners with technology, operations, product, business, Legal, and Information Security stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations for content production, software, SaaS, managed services, AI platforms, and LLM services.
- Structure and negotiate MSAs, SOWs, subscriptions, and licenses across usage-based, token-based, transactional, and T&M pricing models.
- Use sourcing best practices, category management, and market benchmarking to develop category plans and measurable benefits.
- Use AI/GenAI tools and BI platforms to produce data-driven sourcing insights.
- Own strategic content technology supplier relationships and support governance, risk management, optimization, and innovation.
- Advise Legal, Information Security, and business stakeholders during complex negotiations and contract management.
- Follow Global Procurement, Legal, and AI governance requirements.
Candidate requirements
- Progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experience focused on content/data production and software, SaaS, or technology sourcing; experience across both domains or ability to ramp quickly across categories.
- A record of leading and negotiating complex, high-value agreements that deliver business benefits.
- Proficiency with AI tools and Microsoft 365, including Power BI.
- Hands-on experience with category management, spend analytics or BI reporting, and end-to-end RFP/RFI processes.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- CPSM or CIPS certification is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of academic and professional information solutions, content production workflows, and digital content transformation technologies is preferred.
