Role overview
Principal Product Manager owning product for LeanX, Lean's cross-border payments and stablecoin infrastructure business.
LeanX is an early-stage business within a scale-up, with clients, infrastructure, licences, and leadership support.
The role will turn manually handled business processes into a scalable product and join the LeanX leadership team.
Team and travel
- Partners with engineering in Sarajevo and commercial teams in Dubai.
- Regular travel to Sarajevo and Dubai is expected.
Lean and LeanX
Lean provides financial infrastructure APIs for payments, account verification, financial data access, and related services across the Middle East.
LeanX serves remittance companies, exchange houses, and businesses moving money across borders for person-to-person remittance and business payouts.
LeanX operates under Lean's regulated entities and is built by a dedicated engineering team in Sarajevo.
Product strategy and platform
- Own LeanX product strategy and turn it into executable specifications, priorities, and roadmaps.
- Make prioritization decisions with regard to engineering capacity and trade-offs; shape and communicate long-term strategy.
- Build a cross-border platform that scales across volume, clients, and corridors without repeated bespoke rebuilds.
- Automate pre-funding, liquidity, FX, and reconciliation operations.
- Define required technical infrastructure and guide engineering delivery.
- Make client integration and go-live easier through APIs, documentation, sandbox, and onboarding.
- Treat regulation, licensing, and partner coverage as product inputs.
Stablecoin and Lean integration
- Own the stablecoin infrastructure roadmap, including wallets as a service, on-ramps, off-ramps, stablecoin acceptance, and payouts.
- Evaluate adjacent opportunities and avoid distracting product work.
- Build on Lean's core infrastructure where appropriate and maintain a unified platform across stablecoin and fiat, licences, and product lines.
- Bring ways of working closer together across Lean and LeanX teams.
Commercial and engineering collaboration
- Be the first point of contact for product questions from clients, commercial teams, and the company so engineers can focus on building.
- Work with commercial teams on client go-live needs and their implications for volume.
- Set up automation for routine coordination.
Experience and capabilities
- 8+ years in product management, including senior ownership of B2B or infrastructure products.
- Experience in cross-border payments, remittance, payouts, treasury, or stablecoin and digital asset infrastructure.
- Technical fluency with APIs, system design conversations, and engineering trade-offs.
- Track record taking products from early stage to scale, ideally in a startup or new business line.
- Comfort working in regulated environments and treating compliance and licensing as product inputs.
- Clear, concise writing; the role owner writes specifications and strategy documents.
- Experience working with distributed engineering teams across time zones.
- GCC, South Asia, or other emerging-market payment corridor experience is a plus.
- Experience using AI tools to automate product and team workflows is a plus; Arabic is a plus.
