Lead architectural and interior design delivery for major airport projects across the region.
Provide coordinated oversight across landscape, façade, lighting, engineering, and specialist design interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural and interior design from concept through detailed design and delivery.
- Provide technical and design leadership for airport modernisation, refurbishment, and expansion programmes.
- Represent the architecture discipline in client meetings, design workshops, technical reviews, and submissions.
- Make design decisions and respond proactively to multidisciplinary coordination requirements.
- Coordinate with architecture, interiors, landscape, façade, lighting, and specialist design teams.
- Develop terminal layouts for efficient passenger flows, operational needs, and appropriate service levels.
- Integrate local culture, placemaking, and wayfinding to enhance regional identity and passenger experience.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, fire and life safety, accessibility, and relevant aviation requirements.
- Develop phasing strategies for live airport works that minimize disruption to passengers and operations.
- Review drawings, specifications, and deliverables for quality, durability, constructability, and airport suitability.
- Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, MEP, ICT, landscape, façade, and airport systems.
- Provide design reviews and technical guidance and resolve multidisciplinary coordination issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- At least 15 years of architectural design experience, including at least 5 years on airport or aviation projects.
- Proven experience in airport passenger terminal planning and design.
- Strong understanding of passenger flows, terminal processes, and airport planning.
- Experience in interior design, material specification, and placemaking in high-traffic public environments.
- Experience coordinating landscape, façade, lighting, interior, and specialist design interfaces.
- Proficiency in BIM-based design and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Experience delivering design in live operational airports, including phased implementation.
- Familiarity with international aviation requirements and airport design standards.
- Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills; experience across multidisciplinary architecture and engineering teams.
- GCC/Middle East culturally responsive design experience is advantageous.
