The Opportunity

DeepLight AI is seeking a Principal AI/ML Engineer as a technical authority, team mentor, and trusted client principal.

The role combines quantitative science, deep learning, MLOps, strategic consulting, and enterprise AI delivery.

The engineer will lead cross-functional squads and translate executive objectives into production-ready machine learning and Generative AI systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, build, and deploy machine learning models, deep learning pipelines, RAG systems, and LLM agent frameworks on AWS and Azure.
  • Advise client C-suite leaders, Chief AI Officers, and Engineering Leads and translate business challenges into technical blueprints and roadmaps.
  • Lead and develop AI engineers, data scientists, data engineers, and quantitative specialists.
  • Resolve project friction, align business and IT agendas, and defend technical choices, explainability, and AI ethics before review boards.
  • Design zero-trust AI security, prompt injection defenses, PII masking, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure solutions comply with regional Central Bank regulatory frameworks and data sovereignty laws.
  • Build client trust, explain technical decisions, and communicate the business value of advanced AI solutions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, theoretical physics, physics, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, and AI platform development.
  • Substantial experience leading teams in technology or management consultancies.
  • Deep command of PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain or LlamaIndex, vector databases, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS SageMaker, and Azure OpenAI.
  • Proven record of moving AI and machine learning systems into secure, high-concurrency production cloud environments.
  • Financial services, banking, or capital markets experience is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with fine-tuning, quantization, open-weight LLM serving, multi-cloud architecture, procurement, and UAE or GCC regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
