What you'll do

• Design multi-step agent loops, state machines, and tool-calling mechanisms for autonomous enterprise workflows.
• Build context-management pipelines and RAG modules grounded in enterprise knowledge sources.
• Integrate LLMs and agents securely with APIs, databases, legacy business applications, and protocols such as MCP.
• Write production-ready Python with tests, structured output validation, fallback logic, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Build tracing and evaluation suites to benchmark performance, diagnose failures and latency, reduce hallucination loops, and optimize token costs.
• Work with client technical teams and business sponsors to turn ambiguous processes into technical designs, acceptance criteria, and system architectures.
• Present technical decisions clearly, build trust, and advocate for solutions with stakeholders.

Required qualifications

• Personal implementation experience with AI agents, multi-agent frameworks, tool calling, and state management systems.
• Advanced Python proficiency, including maintainable code, pytest, code reviews, and Git.
• Practical experience with commercial and open-weight LLM APIs, prompt design, structured output validation, and model or tool failure handling.
• Experience evaluating LLM applications using task sets, failure analysis, regression testing, and tracing tools.
• Ability to balance reasoning quality, reliability, latency, and cost.

Additional experience valued

• Production deployment and support of LLM agents for business teams or external customers is advantageous.
• Familiarity with LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex Workflows, or custom state machines is advantageous.
• Hands-on MCP, Docker, and AWS or Azure deployment experience is advantageous.
• Regulated enterprise delivery experience, including banking, financial services, or insurance, is advantageous.
• Candidates should be ready to discuss a system they personally built, its design and evaluation, limitations, and progression from prototype to production.
