Principal AI Engineer

Role overview

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field.
• At least 5–7 years of experience designing and implementing machine-learning algorithms.
• Strong understanding of data science, machine learning, and deep learning, with experience in computer vision.

Technical skills

• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ is required.
• Experience in Linux environments, including shell scripting; familiarity with Git and Docker.

Software and AI responsibilities

• Develop software components based on defined requirements and design specifications.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve issues on embedded devices and PC-based systems; integrate software across modules.
• Conduct testing, analysis, and reviews to verify quality and reliability.
• Collaborate across teams on AI, computer vision, and video analytics solutions.
• Develop and maintain video-analytics solutions on edge devices using Python and C/C++.
• Implement object detection, tracking, recognition, and classification algorithms.

Standards and working environment

• Follow software development standards, quality-assurance processes, configuration-management guidelines, company policies, statutory regulations, and safety requirements.
• Work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines; extend working hours when required.
• Plan and prioritize daily tasks under general guidance from a manager or mentor.
• Travel and provide field support during testing.
