Job Purpose

The Pricing Officer – Freight Management is responsible for sourcing and managing transportation service providers, securing competitive transportation rates, and supporting daily operational requirements.

The role ensures the timely availability of trucks for local and GCC cross-border operations while maintaining strong coordination with Operations, Commercial, Finance, and external transport vendors to support business continuity and customer satisfaction.

1- Transportation Procurement & Pricing

  • Source, evaluate, and onboard transportation vendors for local and cross-border operations.
  • Obtain competitive transportation rates for dry, reefer, automotive, bonded, and specialized cargo movements.
  • Handle daily RFQs and provide timely and accurate pricing support to Commercial and Operations teams.
  • Negotiate transportation rates and commercial terms with service providers to achieve cost efficiency.

2- Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation vendors and monitor service performance.
  • Ensure all vendor documentation, permits, licenses, insurance, and compliance requirements remain valid and up to date.
  • Maintain transportation databases, vendor records, and rate comparison reports.

3- Operational Support

  • Coordinate with transport providers to ensure truck availability and timely deployment.
  • Support local and GCC cross-border transportation operations.
  • Monitor market conditions, transportation capacity, truck shortages, and freight rate fluctuations.
  • Work closely with Operations teams to support urgent deployment requirements and resolve customer escalations.

4- Financial & Reporting Support

  • Support the Finance team with billing verification, detention management, and transportation cost tracking.
  • Maintain transportation dashboards, KPI reports, and operational performance records.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of transportation activities.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in transportation procurement, freight management, or logistics operations.
  • Experience within the 3PL or logistics industry is preferred.
  • Experience in GCC cross-border transportation operations is an advantage.
  • Exposure to reefer, dry, automotive, and bonded transportation operations is preferred.

& Competencies

  • Strong understanding of local and GCC transportation operations.
  • Knowledge of trucking operations, transportation documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in vendor management and transportation rate negotiations.
  • Understanding of POD management, KPI tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and transportation dashboards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
