Power BI Developer

Role overview

Main responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards for programme and project stakeholders.
• Gather reporting requirements from PMO, project controls, commercial, risk, and programme management teams.
• Build data models, transformations, and automated reporting with Power BI, Power Query, and DAX.
• Integrate data from project controls, scheduling, cost, risk, document management, and other enterprise systems.
• Ensure reporting data accuracy, consistency, and integrity; develop KPI dashboards and executive reporting packs.
• Collaborate on data architecture and reporting processes; automate workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Support data validation, quality assurance, testing, performance troubleshooting, and dataset optimization.
• Train users, provide technical support, document solutions, maintain reporting standards, and support continuous improvement.

Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in business intelligence, reporting, data analytics, or enterprise information management.
• PL-300 certification or equivalent is required.
• Extensive experience developing enterprise-level Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
• Experience integrating multiple data sources, including SQL Server, Oracle databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Experience in major infrastructure, construction, PMO, or programme management environments.
• Strong understanding of KPI development, performance reporting, and executive dashboard design.
• Experience with automated reporting and BI solutions; knowledge of data governance, data quality, and reporting best practices.
• Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, cost, risk, and commercial management data structures is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
