The Platform Engineer will help build a platform for rapid, frequent, and reliable software build, test, and release.

Technical focus
- The role focuses on automation and scripting, with one or more scripting languages, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform identified for use.
- The platform spans cloud and on-premises infrastructure and supports configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and software delivery.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate platforms used by development and operations teams to provision infrastructure and run applications in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Carry out maintenance as needed, including weekend work; participate in on-call duties and support escalations to maintain platform health.
- Deliver CI/CD capabilities integrated with existing development tools.
- Improve developer experience and enable teams to build cloud infrastructure and deploy applications without impediments.
- Develop IaC and CI/CD policies, standards, and guidelines; automate repetitive tasks through workflow and toolchain improvements.
- Apply security and governance across the software development lifecycle and develop and enforce policies.
- Collaborate on architectural design and cloud best practices, promote DevOps practices, and keep current with relevant tooling.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements and expectations
- The role calls for automation and scripting capability; Ansible and Terraform are given as examples rather than exclusive mandatory tools.
- The role requires supporting secure, reliable platforms, CI/CD delivery, security practices, and collaboration with development and operations teams.
- Weekend maintenance, on-call participation, and support escalations may be required.
