  • Ensure required manpower, spares, materials, tools, lifting facilities, scaffolding, specialist services, and contractors are available before execution.
  • Prepare technical documentation to applicable standards, codes, specifications, and client requirements.

Contracts and contractor management

  • Prepare scopes of work, specifications, BOQ/MTO, resource requirements, schedules, cost estimates, execution methods, and deliverables for mechanical maintenance contracts.

  • Participate in contractor prequalification, technical clarifications, site visits, tender meetings, and contractor selection; evaluate technical bids.
  • Support tendering, clarification, negotiation, award, renewal, and closeout with Contracts and Procurement.
  • Review mobilization plans and verify contractor resources, permits, documentation, and site facilities.
  • Monitor contractor scope, schedule, staffing, productivity, quality, HSE, KPIs, SLAs, progress, and contractual deliverables; coordinate corrective and recovery plans.
  • Review work orders, timesheets, progress reports, quantities, manpower records, payment support, variations, claims, and extension-of-time requests.
  • Maintain performance records and lessons learned; support contractor evaluations, contract closeout, punch-list clearance, and demobilization.

Site execution and shutdowns

  • Maintain frequent site presence to monitor execution, contractors, manpower deployment, work progress, and resource availability.
  • Conduct site walkdowns, verify work scopes and site conditions, and ensure work-front readiness, access, isolation, permits, materials, tools, lifting equipment, and specialist services.
  • Monitor work against approved schedules and coordinate daily site issues, multiple contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor compliance with method statements, JSA, risk assessments, Permit-to-Work, quality procedures, and HSE requirements.
  • Verify reported progress and completed work; participate in mechanical maintenance inspections, testing, commissioning support, reinstatement, and handover as applicable.
  • Plan shutdown and turnaround work lists, job packages, resource-loaded schedules, critical paths, estimates, and contractor mobilization.
  • Lead turnaround site coordination, contractor follow-up, work-front management, progress and schedule control, delay recovery, closeout, and lessons learned.

Budget and cost control

  • Review annual manpower and special equipment requirements for mechanical maintenance.
  • Analyze manpower utilization, contractor productivity, material consumption, equipment utilization, and maintenance cost data.
  • Prepare cost estimates for maintenance, shutdowns, turnarounds, manpower contracts, equipment hire, and specialist services.

Role capabilities

  • The described position requires mechanical maintenance planning and scheduling, contractor and contract coordination, frequent site execution oversight, and shutdown or turnaround planning.
  • The description ends during the budget and cost-control section; no additional qualifications or duties beyond the supplied text are inferred.
