Planning & Cost Control Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules, work programs, and progress updates; monitor progress against schedules, milestones, and targets.
• Prepare progress reports, look-ahead plans, and resource forecasts.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, cash flow, and cost performance.
• Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions to minimize delays and cost overruns.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors on progress and resource requirements.
• Prepare quantity tracking, cost reports, and project performance analyses.
• Assist with claims, variations, extension-of-time submissions, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure planning and cost-control activities comply with project requirements and client and authority standards.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant planning and cost-control experience in infrastructure or civil construction projects.
• Experience in water pipeline and water distribution network projects is highly preferred.
• Previous ETIHAD WE project experience or experience with similar UAE water utility authorities is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, progress monitoring, cost estimation, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to prepare detailed project reports, cash flow forecasts, and progress measurement documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and coordination skills.

• Work is in person in Fujairah.
