Pizza Chef / Pizzaiolo-DCDP

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present a variety of pizzas, including classic Italian-style pizzas, modern gourmet pizzas, and customized orders.
• Make pizza dough from scratch, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch
• Prepare and portion ingredients such as meats, vegetables, and cheeses, ensuring freshness and flavor.
• Operate wood-fired, gas, or electric pizza ovens, ensuring proper cooking times and temperatures.
• Ensure that pizzas are made to restaurant standards with regard to taste, appearance, and texture.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new pizza recipes and seasonal specials.
• Manage pizza ingredients inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and timely ordering of fresh produce and supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Work closely with the kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
• Respond to customer feedback, striving for excellence in every pizza served.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or similar role in a restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of pizza dough making, cooking techniques, and toppings.
• Familiarity with various types of pizza ovens, including wood-fired and gas.
• Passion for culinary arts, with a focus on Italian cuisine and pizza making.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple orders simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
