Prepare high-quality Italian-style pizzas with consistent taste, texture, and presentation while maintaining Italian culinary standards.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare dough from scratch through mixing, kneading, proofing, and fermentation; stretch and shape it to the required size and thickness.
- Prepare Italian-style sauces and fresh toppings, then assemble pizzas according to the restaurant menu.
- Operate pizza ovens and manage cooking temperatures and baking times.
- Maintain consistent recipes, portion sizes, quality, crust, flavor, texture, and presentation.
- Check ingredient freshness and quality, monitor stock, and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Maintain kitchen workstation, oven, utensil, and equipment cleanliness; store ingredients properly and follow food safety procedures.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation.
Qualifications and requirements
- Proven Pizza Chef experience, preferably in an Italian restaurant; three years of restaurant-cook experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of Italian-style pizza preparation, dough handling and fermentation, and traditional pizza-making techniques.
- Knowledge of Italian ingredients, cheeses, sauces, and toppings; experience operating pizza ovens and managing baking temperatures.
- Ability to maintain consistent quality, taste, and presentation; knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and proper food storage.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen; good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Culinary training or Italian cuisine experience is an advantage.
Pay
- AED 2,500–3,000 per month.
