Physiotherapy Assistant

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, treatment areas, equipment, and materials for therapy sessions.
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises, mobility activities, positioning, and transfers under physiotherapist supervision.
• Monitor patients during exercises and promptly report discomfort, pain, dizziness, or other concerns.
• Clean and disinfect equipment, maintain treatment rooms, and support equipment and supply inventory.
• Maintain basic patient and treatment records and support appointment preparation and administrative activities.
• Assist elderly, injured, or mobility-limited patients with appropriate care and attention.
• Follow privacy, infection-control, health, and safety procedures and communicate professionally with healthcare staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma, healthcare certificate, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Previous healthcare, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, fitness, or patient-support experience is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of physical rehabilitation and patient mobility is beneficial.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, safety, hygiene, confidentiality, and teamwork abilities are required.
• Relevant UAE healthcare or professional certification may be required depending on the employer and scope of duties.
