Role Description The Petrochemical Operations Manager is a part-time, hybrid role based in Abu Dhabi, with a mix of on-site work at industrial facilities and remote work from home.
This role oversees daily operations of petrochemical production units, including monitoring process performance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
The manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize production schedules, manage resource allocation, and troubleshoot operational issues.
Responsibilities include reviewing operational data, preparing reports for senior leadership, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting incident investigations.
The role also involves engaging with external partners and vendors as needed to ensure reliable supply chains and efficient plant operations.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of petrochemical processes, plant operations, and production optimization.
- Experience with health, safety, and environmental standards applicable to petrochemical facilities.
- Proficiency in analyzing operational data, preparing reports, and using relevant industrial software tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and logistics.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree or professional certifications are an advantage.
- Previous experience in petrochemical or refinery operations management, preferably in the Gulf region.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid arrangement, managing time between on-site duties in Abu Dhabi and remote tasks.
