Role Description

The PDR Technician is responsible for carrying out high-quality Paintless Dent Repair on vehicles, including minor dents, dings, and panel waviness, using approved PDR techniques.

The role ensures preservation of the original factory paint finish, restores vehicles to manufacturer standards, and delivers repairs within agreed timelines while maintaining the highest levels of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Tasks

  • Exercise extreme care for customer vehicles, utilizing supplied protective coverings to avoid damage of the vehicle interior/exterior. Prior to work starting, inspect for unreported damage or personal articles, and advise the team leader or management of any abnormalities
  • Assist service advisor for assessing damage and determine if PDR is feasible
  • Use protective material/tools before starting repair job to avoid any change of damage to vehicle during repair process
  • Perform the assigned repair Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) on vehicle panels using paintless dent removal techniques, without damaging the painting of the vehicle
  • Ensure clock timing (on/off jobs – time punching) is accurate, and that the actual work performed is accurately recorded on the RO (as required by the company or manufacturer) and/or entered in the DMS system
  • Operate specialized PDR tools such as rods and glue-pulling systems with precision and care
  • Maintain original factory paint finish and restore panels to manufacturer standards
  • Inspect completed repairs to ensure compliance with quality expectations and company standards
  • oordinate closely with Service Advisors and Workshop Management regarding repair decisions, job status, and estimated completion times
  • Proactively communicate with the service advisor about any potential delays or changes to promised delivery times so customers can be informed in a timely manner
  • Support fast turnaround times for minor repairs while maintaining quality standards
  • Maintain tools and equipment neatly and in good operating condition. Report loss, breakage, and faults to team leader who in turn will report to the workshop manager or after sales manager
  • Act on feedback from Team Leaders and Quality Controllers, addressing any repeat repairs (comebacks) and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Dispose of waste materials in accordance with company policies and government regulations
  • Actively participate in toolbox talks and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Make effective and efficient use of tools, special tools, and workshop consumables to improve productivity and repair quality
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment at all times
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and immediately report unsafe conditions or practices
  • Use the provided materials, tools, and workshop consumables effectively
  • Comply with all company, manufacturer, health, safety, quality, security, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Contribute ideas and support initiatives aimed at reducing non-value-added activities, improving workshop culture, and enhancing profitability

Knowledge, Qualifications & Skills required

  • 2–5 years’ experience in PDR or auto body repair
  • Strong understanding of vehicle body structures
  • Skilled in using PDR tools and techniques
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
