Paint Mixer

Role purpose

Paint preparation and matching

• Confirm the vehicle paint color code with the Painter before preparing a mixture.
• Mix approved formulas in the required volume for the panels being repaired.
• Match colors and make manual shade adjustments.
• Prepare spray samples or test plates to verify color and identify shade variations.
• Retrieve paint formulas from the relevant system using basic computer applications.
• Calculate and prepare paint, lacquer, solvent, thinner, and other material quantities.

Stock, records, and equipment

• Keep accurate records of paint materials and consumables used in the Body Shop.
• Monitor stock levels and prepare ordering lists for replenishment.
• Coordinate paint-material and consumable orders with the Purchase Department.
• Monitor paint booth filter stocks and coordinate replenishment.
• Update the paint booth maintenance logbook and coordinate maintenance with the Maintenance Department.

Experience and education

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in automotive painting, paint mixing, or a similar Body Shop environment.
• High school qualification or equivalent.

Technical qualifications

• Good knowledge of automotive paint mixing and preparation, color matching, and shade adjustment.
• Ability to work with paint color codes and formulas and prepare test panels or spray samples.
• Knowledge of automotive paint materials, paint quantity calculations, paint booth operations, and basic maintenance.
• Experience monitoring paint and consumables stocks and maintaining accurate records.

Workplace and safety

• Work location is in person.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow company QHSE and health and safety procedures.
