Forklift Operator

Role purpose

Forklift and warehouse duties

• Load and unload goods from containers, trailers, and delivery vans; transport shipments and parts between warehouse areas.
• Organize stock under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor and Storekeepers; distribute parts to retail and workshop counters.
• Maintain the forklift, report maintenance needs, follow operating and safety procedures, and keep required forklift documents up to date.
• Read orders and shipping documents; sort, pick, assemble, pack, label, and prepare parts for dispatch.
• Open containers safely, count and weigh items, and maintain records of received, stored, and distributed goods using computerized systems.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or National Parts Manager.

Experience and education

• At least 2 years of relevant forklift operations and warehouse-handling experience.
• Experience with loading and unloading shipments, material movement, stock handling, and warehouse organization.
• High school qualification or diploma.

Certifications and technical skills

• A valid forklift driving license is mandatory; keep required forklift documents current.
• Complete forklift operational training and DIC certification as applicable.
• Operate a forklift safely; understand warehouse storage, stock movement, parts handling, and safe lifting and stacking.
• Read shipping orders, requisitions, and parts documentation; identify basic forklift maintenance issues.
